Class Reflection
- In this class, I learned how to begin making a website, specifically setting up a WordPress site with navigation and pages.
- I learned about how SEO works, and how to make a website accessible and more likely to be shown by search engines.
- I learned how to set up forms on a website that send emails automatically, and how to customize each aspect of said form.
- I wish we had more time to learn about actually adding code to the website, like additional CSS styling or JavaScript for more functionality.
- I also wish we had more time to learn more about making the website look professional, leaning into the graphic design side of website production.
Going into this class, I expected it to be more technical, focusing on the management part of websites rather than mostly the production. I also thought we would be making our website starting with a barer bones setup, rather than having a site like WordPress that makes setting up the site much easier. That being said, the class was still very valuable for learning the general knowledge needed to create a website, focusing more on learning WordPress as a tool than creating a website from the ground up.
